Why I started this newsletter

Hi Reader,

This is for all the returning prodigals like myself who have been graciously received after turning their backs on the one who loves them. It's for people who have struggled with their Christian faith, as I have. Perhaps you knew Jesus because you were born into or raised in the Christian faith, but then lost your way as you got older, when life got busy. Perhaps you fell through the cracks and didn't find ongoing support from the church when your faith was challenged. Maybe you were hurt by someone's conduct at church, which led you away from the faith. Perhaps it was worldly distractions, like finally making some real money or finding a significant other. Perhaps you found no one to pray with and support you during a tough time.

Many are the reasons why people lose their faith. As a person who was a Christian and then became a non-believer due to all of the reasons above, I know how it is to go from being hot for Christ in one moment of my life to denying that he ever existed in another. As of today, I have spent about as much time out of faith as I have in faith since I first gave my heart to God in my mid-teens. After tasting both, I can assure you that I'm really grateful that Christ called me back to himself and for restoring my faith to something even greater than it was before I fell. I will go over this in more detail in future posts, but having my faith restored in Jesus and in the Bible as God's true word is due to his supernatural love.

I was blinded by unbelief, and after encountering Jesus, I see him more clearly than ever before. There is something about coming full circle to having faith in Christ that allows me to see things in a whole new light. After experiencing him for myself, no one can convince me that God is not real. And if he did it for me, then I believe he can do it for anyone.
